From Geekworld: MySpace has been dominated by whiny, self-centered teens, and most efforts by whiny, self-centered comickers to insert themselves into that world and share their work have failed. Thanks to the efforts of Josh Roberts, there is now a place on the net where the entire community seems to be coming together --
-- quickly and peacefully. ComicSpace is essentially a bare-bones MySpace for cartoonists and comickers, and this has proven to be a huge boon to the community thus far; in just the first few days of its infancy, ComicSpace has introduced webcomickers to other comic makers they may have never heard of, and helped others find new readers. Even the print guys have taken a shine to the project, as more and more of them are joining the webcomickers - a rare thing indeed. Roberts is planning on introducing more and more features as time goes on. That’s good, since over 3,500 users registered at the site in less than a week. So far, this could be one of the biggest things that’s happened to webcomics, and perhaps even comics in general. Here’s hoping ComicSpace is everything we all hope for - so far, so good. www.comicspace.com |
